It’s crucial to have high quality parts and equipment, but equally as important is the quality of the installation. Central heating basics
In most UK homes, mains gas central heating is the heating method. This is a “wet” heating system that consists of a gas-powered boiler that heats water to provide central heating throughout the house. The room heat comes through radiators and the taps provide you with hot water. Natural gas is the most common type of fuel used to power the boilers, with heating oil coming in second. If your house isn’t connected to the gas network for some reason, it is possible to use electrical heating.
Heating your home can be expensive, and we can help you to improve the efficiency of your heating system, save energy and ultimately pounds. We can design a complete new heating system specifically suited to your property, decommission and remove the old system, and then install the new one. We do all the calculations to work out the type and sizes of radiators and the capacity of boiler that you’ll need. And if your property needs old underfloor piping replacing or extending, we will do all of that for you as tidily and carefully as possible.
Many households are switching from standard boilers to more modern condensing boilers to save energy and money. These modern alternatives utilize flue gases that are usually wasted in a standard boiler system. Some models are up to 90% more efficient than the traditional boiler, so it is definitely worth looking into; the process of switching over is not complex. If you have been using the traditional boiler method to heat your home and are interested in a more eco-friendly alternative, a condensing boiler will be the answer.
FREE UP SPACE IN YOUR HOME
No one really changes their boiler or radiators solely to create space, but if you’re changing them anyway call us and we’ll come round and take a look. There are often suggestions we can make about your new system, and where the boiler or tanks should be located that may free up a surprising amount of room.
And don’t forget, if you have an old boiler with a separate hot water cylinder in a cupboard somewhere, a modern Combi boiler that doesn’t need to store a cylinder full of hot water could give you back that cupboard!
